Job Title: CEI Inspector (Construction Engineering Inspection)

 

Location: Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Florida

 

Venda Search is currently seeking qualified candidates for a CEI Inspector position on behalf of our client, a reputable engineering firm engaged in transportation projects with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and local municipalities.

 

Job Description: We are looking for a skilled CEI Inspector to join our client's team for overseeing transportation, roadway, and bridge construction projects in Florida. As a CEI Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that construction work adheres to project plans, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site inspections and surveillance of construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulations.
  • Monitor contractor activities to verify quality of workmanship and materials used.
  • Document and report daily construction activities, including work progress, issues encountered, and resolutions.
  • Perform quantity calculations and maintain accurate project records.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure project objectives are met.
  • Conduct materials testing and review test results.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate inspection reports and documentation.
  • Enforce safety protocols and practices on the construction site.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) for transportation, roadway, or bridge projects.
  • Familiarity with FDOT standards and specifications is highly preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CTQP (Construction Training Qualification Program) certifications (e.g., CTQP Concrete Field Technician, CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection) are advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with project stakeholders.
  • Proficient in using technology for documentation and reporting (e.g., Microsoft Office, project management software).
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to project sites as needed.

 

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional technical or vocational training related to construction inspection or engineering is preferred.
