Construction Estimator – Heavy Civil, DOT & Sitework Projects

Location: Fort Myers

Salary: up to $150K (depending on experience)

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for Heavy Civil, DOT, and sitework construction projects based on plans, specs, and proposals.
  • Review project documentation and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and scope clarity.
  • Analyze historical data and market trends to support competitive bidding strategies.
  • Participate in bid review meetings and present estimates to leadership and clients.
  • Maintain detailed records of estimates, assumptions, and subcontractor quotes for project handoff.

 

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of estimating experience in Heavy Civil Construction, preferably with FDOT and sitework projects.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, or similar) and MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and quantity takeoffs.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
