Snr UPS Field Service Technician

Salaries range from $45/hr-$55/hr plus 401k, Health Insurance, Vacation, PTO and Bonus scheme.

Leading provider of critical power solutions supporting industrial, commercial, and data center environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Service and repair UPS systems, inverters, rectifiers, regulators, and associated AC/DC power systems.
• Perform diagnostic testing, system inspections, and preventive maintenance to manufacturer and company standards.
• Document findings, generate test reports, and communicate technical details accurately to customers and internal teams.
• Respond to emergency service calls; maintain readiness for off-hours and weekend work as required.
• Support commissioning and startup of new equipment installations.
• Provide technical input during project planning and execution; coordinate with project managers and sales when scope changes arise.
• Mentor less-experienced technicians, providing hands-on guidance in field procedures and safety practices.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, and work areas in compliance with safety and calibration standards.
• Adhere to OSHA, IEEE, and NFPA requirements in all aspects of field work.
The successful candidate must have/show:
• Minimum 5 years of experience with UPS and DC power systems in industrial, commercial, or data center environments.
• Deep understanding of AC/DC theory, power electronics, and battery systems.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing both single-phase and three-phase systems.
• Hands-on experience with power plant and VRLA battery replacements; wet-cell experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of protective relays, switchgear interfaces, and power distribution equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with standard electrical testing instruments.
• Competent in MS Office or equivalent software for reporting and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to convey complex information clearly to clients and peers.
• Willing to travel regionally and work flexible hours.
