Critical Power Field Technician (UPS)

Salaries range from $40k–$50k plus 401k, Health Insurance, Vacation, PTO, and Bonus scheme.

• A leading independent service provider for critical infrastructure across telecommunications, renewable energy, and power systems nationwide. With a team of over 2,500 professionals, they deliver engineering, maintenance, repair, and repowering solutions supporting telecom networks, solar and wind projects, EV charging stations, and large-scale critical power systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform preventive, corrective, and restorative maintenance on UPS systems, DC power systems, PDUs, STS, and battery technologies.
• Install electrical and monitoring equipment, including rack-mounted UPS units and battery systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve field issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Conduct performance testing, component replacement, and system repairs.
• Provide exceptional customer service and build long-term client relationships.
• Mentor junior technicians on best practices, safety, and troubleshooting methods.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, FCC, FAA, and EPA standards.
• Travel as needed to customer sites, ensuring projects are completed safely and on time.
The successful candidate must have/show:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a third-party critical power field service or technical support role, or 5 years in an OEM critical power service environment.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical principles and the use of test equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot to component level.
• Prior military electronics or avionics training preferred.
• Excellent judgment, reliability, and professionalism under pressure.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
