Controls Engineer (Critical Power)
Location – New Jersey
Salaries range from $125k+ plus 401k, Health Insurance, Vacation, PTO and Bonus scheme.

Our Client:
• Leading electrical systems integrator specializing in mission-critical power distribution and control solutions for data centers and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design control systems for low and medium-voltage switchgear (480V to 38kV).
• Develop one-line diagrams, schematics, and control panel layouts.
• Specify, configure, and program PLCs (Siemens, GE Fanuc, Emerson) and SCADA/HMI systems.
• Configure and test protection relays, power meters, and automation systems.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
• Troubleshoot PLCs, SCADA systems, relays, and power quality equipment.
• Create and maintain documentation, including sequences of operation and as-built drawings.
• Train customers and internal teams on system operation and maintenance.
• Provide on-call technical support as needed.

The successful candidate must have/show:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• 8–10+ years in control system engineering with switchgear design and implementation experience.
• Hands-on experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, and relay protection.
• Expertise in designing switchgear control systems and industrial networking.
• Ability to read and create one-line diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Excellent communication and leadership qualities.
• Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and relevant electrical standards.
• Ability to pass background check and comply with drug-free workplace policies.
• Travel flexibility (10%) and availability for occasional on-call or off-hours support.
