Construction Estimator – Heavy Civil, DOT & Sitework Projects

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for Heavy Civil, DOT, and sitework construction projects based on plans, specs, and proposals.
- Review project documentation and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and scope clarity.
- Analyze historical data and market trends to support competitive bidding strategies.
- Participate in bid review meetings and present estimates to leadership and clients.
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, assumptions, and subcontractor quotes for project handoff.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of estimating experience in Heavy Civil Construction, preferably with FDOT and sitework projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, or similar) and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and quantity takeoffs.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with vendors and subcontractors.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
